I'm really on the fence with Odin Sphere figures. They are so beautiful but I hated the game so damn much! It was too repetitve and the fruit growing and alchemy drove me insane!

What I want is Grimgrimoire figures (from Vallinaware - same guys who made Odin Sphere). Now that was a fantastic game. If you liked Odin Sphere even only for the art then I urge you to check out Grimgrimoire - its got better art and better gameplay + story.

GrimGrimore was a great game no doubt and one that it seems alot of people are unaware that it even existed.

That said Odin Sphere is a much better game from a game play standpoint and a character and story stand point. The way all the characters story lines meet up and the whole Armageddon ending is incredible. It was so well done it easily overrides any other slightly negative aspect of the game.

@Reibiooi: I can't say I agree with you 100% although I never managed to finish it so you have the more informed opinion. After 10 hours I couldn't imagine doing the same thing for another 20 (I heard its roughly 30 hours long). I'm also a little skeptical about their new masamune blade game. I love the art (who doesn't?) but the gameplay seems again a bit too grating.

I was just a little frustrated with the lack of publicity and people not knowing about Grimgrimoire; I only started playing it the other day and it completely blew me away! I was weary of it at first after odin sphere but it is a completely different type of game altogether ^_^

Only reason I didn't get Grimgrimoire was that I was really unsure about how a side scrolling RTS would work out o.O It sounded like it would frustrate me more than being enjoyable. I'm going to have to seriously check it out though!

@JoZo: Uh-oh, I feel the pressue is on now - I'm afraid if you end up not liking it!
The side-scrolling RTS is weird because I don't normally like RTS games but I found this to be really fun. Take from that what you will.

I was the same about the grimGrimore. I was very skeptical that a RTS could work on a console let alone in 2D however they really made it work and it's a genuinely good game. My only complaint is the lack of real need for strategy. Come near the end of the game all you really need to do is pool your resources into making as many chimera's as you can and then just lead them around the map killing everything. That got stale and if I hadn't liked the story so much I probably would not have finished the game. Although I still do play it from time to time.

@ShadowMountain. I highly suggest you finish Odin Sphere if possible. The game has a final chapter in which all of the characters path merge during the events that will end the world and the way it plays out is stunning. There are twists you don't see coming and moments that will make you cry as well as make you stand up and cheer. I never really had a problem with the game play but I can see how one would not like it. That said it's not something that should prevent you from seeing the ending of the game.

....everyone go finish the game! :D Some of the endings brought me to tears. (A rarity as I am a large manly man :P)
