The mad scientist of custom action figures, Dr. Siloff (an honorary title bestowed by Tomopop, though one certainly earned) has produced the next figure in his Victorian Avengers series, this time recreating Thor. Thor seems like a fairly gutsy choice of hero on which to apply the steampunk treatment, but as with his previous creations Siloff does not disappoint. Each of Siloff's steampunk creations has a brief back story created for them to explain the modifications of the character during customization and Thor's is especially creative.
Norwegian immigrant and railway worker , Lars Olsen, discovered an ancient Viking Hammer buried in a mountain, while excavating for a tunnel. The hammer was that of the Viking god Thor and had been hidden in the mountain by Loki, the god of mischief. The Hammer, responding to Olsen's Scandinavian heritage, allowed the God of Thunder to posses the body of the human.
You know, on one hand I'd love to see these picked up by a large distributor, simply so I can have a set of steampunk heroes for my very own without having to sell a kidney, but on the other hand the limited nature of these customs and the hard work put into each one makes them all the more special. Would you like Siloff's steampunk works get a broad, mainstream release or do you prefer to see them as individual customs?
