Tomopop Review: Yeti Guy from Patch Together
by Rio McCarthy on 01/01/2009 2 comments

It's no secret that I'm definitely a fan of what Patch Together does and love to see what new designs get chosen. Back when I first saw the Yeti Guy series they definitely made me giggle and I loved the aspect of the characters.

Yeti Guy is a collaboration between Patch Together and Nevermore and they've definitely succeeded in creating some of the most adorable Yeti I've ever seen. To see what the rest of my opinion is on these cake eating fiends, hit the jump!

Yeti Guy comes in three different colorways including an Abominable Edition, Woodland Edition and the especially awesome Yeti Girl which is the Spare Rib Edition. The name "Spare Rib Edition" alone was enough to make me laugh, as did the facial expression on these guys.

Upon opening the box there was a card that stated "Thank you for adopting us! Now, where do you keep the cake?" Well these little guys sure were lucky, as they got sent to me not long after my birthday and I still had some birthday cake left! I think they quite enjoyed getting to eat my leftovers, and let me tell you, it was damn good cake.

The design is dead on with what the original was, and that's one of the things I love the most about Patch Together. They really try their best to keep things as close to the original design as they can. The boxes for their products also look fantastic, and that's a major plus for me since I keep the boxes for all of my toys.

There is one thing that is a little weird with it, and that is the arms have articulation to move up and down, but their right arms don't seem to fit upwards as well as the left. Same to that, the left arm doesn't go down as pleasantly as the right. This leaves a little bit of odd spacing between the arms, but I like to see him raising his fist in victory so it doesn't really bother me for how I wanted to place them.

I also found out that Yeti and bunnies surprisingly make good friends, especially when they hang out in the snow.

If you had thought about picking up these guys for your collection I'd highly suggest it. Each edition of the Yeti Guy is limited to 300 pieces and you can pick up a specific colorway individually for $35 or the entire set for $90 at Patch Together's online store. These guys give me a laugh every time I look at them on my shelves, so pick one up for yourself while they last!
