When
Kidrobot originally released their totem Doppelgänger, designed by Anton Ginzburg, I thought would lose my mind, but now that there is a blind boxed set of miniTotem Doppelgänger, my mind has officially been lost. I was so excited upon having one arrive at my mailbox, so I thought I'd share my findings and excitement with you all.
Hit the jump to check out this new miniTotem Doppelgänger series and see why I enjoy them so much.
First off, I absolutely adore the boxes these come in. A lot of blind boxed figures show you exactly what figures are in the series, but I like that it is done in a way that doesn't make the box overly busy. The top has a very clean silver look, and I giggle every time I see the bottom that states that they're, "Designed with Love" as it just makes me happy.

One of my favorite parts of blind boxed figures is popping open the top and then opening the wrapper that usually surrounds the figure you'll be getting. The surprise is always fun to see what you'll randomly end up with, as no matter what it says your odds will be on the box, you never really know until you get it opened up.

Inside the box with the silver wrapper is a small flier that shows the rarity of each of the colors in the series with one side being the hot colors and one being the cold colors.

Inside my box I got my very first Doppelgänger which was purple, and also happens to be one of my favorite colors. The expression just makes me giggle non-stop and I absolutely love how simple the design is.

According to the rarity chart the purple Doppelgänger will get pulled 2 out of 25 times, which is the same with most of the colors, but that's just fine with me since I got one of my favorite colors on my very first go!

When we went outside Doppelgänger was quite shy, so he hid inside our pumpkin decorations outside for quite some time before feeling comfortable enough to come out.

He finally decided he'd like to play in the leaves a bit, even though he was still slightly shy, but we had a good time. Luckily it didn't rain for one day this past week so he could play in the leaves without getting all muddy!

He really enjoyed getting to check out the flowers while they were still around, since they'd soon be gone from the frost. I think if I had indoor plants he'd love to live in, or near them, as he seemed absolutely fascinated. Well, at least I think that's what that expression was...

While he was outside he did manage to make friends with my Beat It Yoka I had created for an art show, who was also being photographed.

With amazingly quick speed they became good friends, and before he knew it, Beat It Yoka had a brand new hat! These little 1.75 inch tall ghosts, are stackable with one another, and can make for funny little hats on your other figures you have hanging about.

They're also much squishier than your regular vinyl toy. They are quite sturdy by all means, but they can be squished, and it also makes a cute little puff of air come out of the bottom, which makes me laugh for some reason.

Doppelgänger also fell in with a bit of the wrong crowd before I could tell him not to... Let's just say his company wasn't opposed to eating ghosts so I had to go in for a rescue.

As you can tell I had a lot of fun with this little guy, and I would suggest anyone who likes fun pick up a few of these blind boxes. You can pick them up from Kidrobot's online store for just $4.95 each, or if you've got a local vinyl toy store be sure to check them out as well.
There are 14 different colors to collect, and I know I'll be doing my best to get my hands on some more of these. For all of you fun lovers out there, I suggest you get your hands on some as well. You never know what exciting photo shoots could lie in your future with these little guys.
