April 5th was a day full of fun and awesomeness. I went to Planet Comicon in Overland Park, Kansas. Besides spending a lot more money than I should have, I had a great time getting to meet people. It was a full day of toys and comics.
Well, there's a lot to tell about, as well as mini-reviews for all the toys that I bought, so hit the jump and see what all the excitements about.
First off, I want to thank everyone who made Planet Comicon what it was. There were a ton of awesome guests, as well as artists. The exhibitors had some amazing finds as well. It was a great experience and I can't wait to go next year.

Alright, now I know what you all have been waiting for, the goodies I bought. First off I picked up the Darth Maul Mighty Muggs. Darth Maul was one of the few things I really enjoyed from Star Wars : Episode I so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pick this up. It's adorable and put together very well. I'm really glad I nabbed him for a steal at $12.

Also, to go along with my love for Darth Maul there was a person dressed in costume that was absolutely amazing. Of course I had to get my picture taken with him.

I finally got my hands on a Munny after wanting one for quite a while. I decided to buy one of the 7" Glow in the Dark Munny from Kid Robot. This is where I have to give a big shout out to Elite Comics in Overland Park, KS. They were the only store selling any form of designer toys at the convention, and were nice enough to give me a hell of a deal on the items I bought. For example, this Munny was only $20. So if you happen to be in the Kansas City area, be sure to go check them out. Now to decide what I'm going to make my Munny look like...

I picked up a Baby Qee from them as well, which ended up being a 3.5" Grizee. I'm tempted to give him a Darth Maul makeover, but I'm not for sure yet. Though for $10 you can easily afford to get a family together. It's so totally adorable I can't wait to customize it.

Venom Bear is one of my favorite purchases of the con. He's in the Marvel Bearz series and he's amazing. I think everyone needs a Venom Bear. For only $8 it was totally worth it.

Another couple of exciting figures I picked up were my DC Direct Death with her umbrella and my Morpheus (Sandman) DC Direct figure. Both were just $5 a piece and are a great addition to my collection. They're really well sculpted.

I grabbed the Gambit Marvel Famous Covers figure for just $5 which made my day. I have a great love for Gambit so this was another awesome find. It may not look the greatest but I can't wait to get him all set up on my desk.

The last thing I bought was purely because it was hilarious. For $2 I got an autographed DDP WCW figure. It's pretty horrible looking as most of the WCW figures were, but for it being signed and $2 I couldn't pass it up.

Well, that concludes my adventure. The pictures I took from the convention are attached to the post. Besides getting my picture taken with Darth Maul I also took some with artist Bryan Ward and Twin Galaxies referee Walter Day.
