There's a ton of Final Fantasy VII merchandise out in the world. Some of it is amazingly beautiful, warranting its high price tag, while others are so laughably bad that you have to wonder why they're trying to cash in on things.
And so when I was passed along these two new FFVII Static Arts figures, I was a little torn. At first glance, I was absolutely amazed at Cloud's setting. The light and flower base really brought something new, while Sephiroth's pose while surrounded by flames just looked badass.
But when it came to the characters themselves, I felt as though they were somewhat lacking. They're well designed, I must say, but at the same time it feels like they were just pressed out of a mold, with little heart put into it.
That's just my guess, though, from looking at the photos Square Enix sent over. It could be that I've just become jaded with all things FFVII, but something instinctively struck me as off with these two. What do you think? We've got bigger photos down in the gallery below. And if you're sold on them, then go ahead and pick 'em up from the Square Enix shop.
Also, be sure to cehck out Colette's review of the Sephiroth figure, with one of the Cloud Static Arts piece coming up soon!

I wouldn't have minded getting these if they weren't so expensive. Sora's Static Arts figure still remains the best. :3
