Show and tell: the Suzumiya Haruhi Nendoroids
by Topher Cantler on 09/06/2008 6 comments

But wait, it's not Wednesday! Yes, I realize this, but as it turns out, I didn't have time to post my Show and Tell earlier this week, so I'm doing it today. So there. Anyway, the part of my collection that I've decided to share with you this week contains three of my very favorite Nendoroids, Yuki, Mikuru and Haruhi.

It's hard for me to ascertain exactly where and when my obsession with Good Smile Company's adorable line of SD poseables began, but my collection started with Nagato Yuki, who was given to me by my girlfriend. Miss Nagato hitting my toy shelf was like a snowball hitting the crest of a hill, and the next thing I knew, a rabid collector was born. Hit the jump for a closer look at the complete set of Suzumiya Haruhi Nendoroids.

S.O.S. Dan, assemble!

Suzumiya Haruhi:

Asahina Mikuru:

Nagato Yuki:

Mikuru biiiiimu:

This chair is now S.O.S. Dan property. Whatcha gonna do about it?

Not only are these young ladies three of my favorite Nendoroids, they're three of my favorite figures in general. We still don't know if Good Smile Company has any plans to continue its Haruhi series with a Kyon and/or Itsuki, but I can guarantee they'd sell at least one of each if that turns out to be the case. I'd love to have the complete brigade together on my shelf.

Nendoroids, while not without their share of annoyances, (joints can sometimes be either too tight to pull apart or so loose they won't stay together), are still some of the most fun you can have with a toy. They're beautiful enough to pose once and leave on display forever, but with their interchangeable faces and parts, you'll find this impossible. There are just too many cool things to do with them. Furthermore, once you get a few into your stash, the Nendoroid mix & match possiblities are endless, and much like Revoltechs or Figmas, you can sit around for hours making all sorts of abominations. So, because it had to be done ...
