As some of you know two of my many fixations are Disney and pirates, so when I saw that Roen (a Japanese clothing company) was designing a Pirate Mickey vinyl collectible doll I knew I absolutely had to have it. From the looks of it, I obviously didn't make too badly of a choice there, especially since I happened to have had a Sideshow Toy gift card when I ordered it, making it even better!
Now, thanks to Roen and Disney I have an adorable Pirate Mickey to go in my pirate ship bathroom, so join me on a photo journey - Hit the jump to tag along!

As you can see he comes packaged nicely in a window box so you can see the front view of the figure. It's a pretty plain design for the box, but I think it works nicely and makes it look more vintage. There's also a somewhat neat pirate flag background behind the figure in the box.

Inside the box he comes in a plastic casing, which I'm generally not a fan of. It seems that a lot of my figures that have come that way have tiny paint flaws in them just from rubbing around on the packaging, but then again you're bound to have that practically no matter what packaging you use.

I absolutely love his pose, as he looks tough and ready for action. The design works so well with keeping his pants and gloves but changing the color of his shoes and adding a scarf to his head. I also love the details in his shoes that show the sewing on them.

One of my favorite design bits with this figure is that you can see his eyebrow raised underneath the head scarf. It adds an extra bit of character, and makes his expression that much more poignant.

Everything's sculpted so nicely, including his cute little mouse tail, which seems a little fragile but I have yet to have any problems with it. The ties around his boots and the ties on the head scarf look so realistic and nicely done for being a cartoon character.

Of course he had to make a trip to my coveted pirate ship bathroom, and he tried to unlock the chest of magical treasures. Pirate Mickey is a great addition to any collection. Standing roughly 7 inches tall from the tip of his sword to the bottom of his boots he could fit nearly anywhere. If you happen to live in the United States (or possibly all of North America) he's still in stock through Sideshow Toy for $47.99, but unfortunately he's on backorder in Europe. If you're a fan of Mickey or pirates, I'd definitely suggest you pick him up while you've got a chance.
