The little guy you see above is Sushibot, the creation of Venezuelan illustrator/designer Pez Banana (a.k.a. Jose Lorenzo Pacheco). I'd spotted Sushibot up on PatchTogether some time ago and voted on it, loving the cute designs Jose had put together. The original design had three different versions, each based off a type of makizushi: Alaskabot (alaska roll), Ebibot (ebi roll), and Calibot (california roll), all of which were adorable. But the good news is that Sushibot has been picked by PatchTogether to be made into a resin figure that will be for sale!
The first Sushibot, Alaskabot, is up on PatchTogether's store right now with a pre-production order price of $30. That will jump to $35 once Alaskabot goes into production after 20 pre-ordrs are taken, so now's a very good time to head on over and put down a pre-order for this delectable little robot. Congrats once again to Jose for having his design brought to life by PatchTogether, and I think I speak for a lot of resin and toy enthusiasts when I say that we hope this is the beginning of something great!
