Revoltech Expo shows off transformable Valkryie, also everything you possibly want
by Andres Cerrato on 10/31/2009 20 comments

It feels as though Revoltech has been kinda slacking in releases as of late. While a lot of attention has been placed on the upcoming Alien SFX release, there's no shortage of good figures coming soon for the line. At today's Revoltech Expo though, I have the feeling that a lot of us will be opening up our wallets for a ton of pre-orders.

Let me start this way, the new SFX line is made of awesome. Here's the rundown of releases: Gaimaijin, Alien, Booska, Jack Skellington, Gamera,  Gyaso, Batman (The Dark Knight ver.), Giant Robo and GR2 (Tokusatsu tv series version), a T-Rex, and a Powered Suit. I don't think I've seen such a diverse and amazing launch lineup in a long time. I'm stoked for the release of Alien, but adding in Batman and Jack Skellington caught me completely off-guard in a totally good way.

As for the just standard Revoltech line, it gets better as there is now a perfect transformation of Macross' Valkyries. You can pick up either the VF-1A, VF-1S, or VF-1J. In non-Macross releases, a new version of the ARX-8 Arbalest as well as the ARX-7 Arbalest from Full Metal Panic, Getter Robo Go, Grendizer and the first Zoids release, Blade Liger. Possibly the most unexpected figure in this lineup: Professor Layton.

Also on display at the show was the white costume versions of the recent Sengoku Basara releases as well as the Fraulein prototypes of Mari Illustrious Makinami and Asuka from Evangelion 2.0. It's tough for me to get excited about these given all of the new stuff that's coming out.

Check out the gallery below for everything Revoltech for the next couple of months. Also, please stay tuned for an upcoming presentation of Yotsuba riding a T-Rex facing off against Batman riding on top of Gamera.
