Review: Valkyria Chronicles' Selvaria Bles
by Drew327 on 02/04/2010 14 comments

[This review by Drew327, as well as momohanabi's video review yesterday, are why I love being Tomopop's Community Manager. We have such an amazingly talented community, and I love giving a well-deserved, front-page spotlight even more than a nice MLT! If you missed it in the c-blogs, check out these beautiful photos of a gorgeous figure. -Jason]

Greetings; inaugural figure review for me! I haven't seen a ton of buzz surrounding this figure so I thought I might take a load of pictures and show it up close to kind of bring it to light. I have not been into figures for very long, so I may not be the most qualified to 'review' something; maybe a 'Show and Tell/Review/Unboxing Extravaganza!' Anyways, hit the jump for Enter Brain's Selvaria Bles from the PS3's Valkyria Chronicles.

(There will be a link at the bottom to a photobucket album of much higher res shots for those interested.)

Fun insert art!
(Her chest just keeps getting bigger and bigger the more places she appears. You could set your drinks on there!)

Looks pretty sharp!

Creepy disembodied hand!!!

Wrists/hands don't look too great. Fortunately they are covered up by her gear:

Bit of a snafu in the gold paint in there...

I'm pretty happy with the hair; I hate when the dividing line between front and back hair pieces is so obvious. However, if you look really closely, the front and back half of Selvaria's hair, they almost look a shade different in color.

Close inspection of the eyes shows maybe a few paint job errors? Either that or she put on her eyeliner in the dark. : ) However, I could only see this when looking through a zoom lens and I can't see any issue with the naked eye.

Really looking forward to doing some artistic stuff with backgrounds and lighting. She has a great evil stare.

This was the first figure I ever pre-ordered (back in October). Doesn't appear to be perfect, but overall, I am really happy with it; Valkyria Chronicles is one of my favorite games in recent memory and I am hopeful for more great PVC items like this one. I have seen an Alter unpainted Selvaria, presumably on the horizon, so I was wondering if I should wait, but I caved and am glad (for the moment at least) that I got this one.

High res images, and maybe a couple that were not here, are on display at my photobucket album.

If you have any questions not addressed by the pictures, feel free to let me know! Also, sorry for the lack of panty shots- I'm a married man so, just not my deal!
