Hot Toys MMS DX 02 The Dark Knight 1/6th scale Batman
by Tim Sheehy on 07/10/2009 2 comments

When Hot Toys announced their Joker, I was absolutely stunned by how perfect it was. The details are so good that it's easy to imagine someone mistaking it for an actual photo of Heath Ledger. After the teaser Colette posted the other day, I was dying to see what they had in store for us with their latest work.

Joinning their MMS DX product line, Hot Toys finally unveiled The Dark Knight, 1/6th scale Batman. It stands approximately 32 centimeters tall, with over 32 points of articulation--oh, and the suit is completely accurate. Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less. Just like The Joker, this figure also has the Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS) with colored translucent iris, allowing the eyes to move depending on how you set the figure up.

Get more details after the jump.

They also threw in an alternate head with the sonar vision device--you know, that cell phone thing from the movie that everyone groaned about--which allows the eyes to light up. They're cell button, battery operated, and the battery comes included. There are also interchangeable faces that fit both heads and feature trademark looks from the movie itself, as well as three sets of interchangeable posing hands.

Hot Toys also included an arsenal of weapons and utilities such as the grapnel gun, a transformable sticky bomb bun, a back pack, mini mines, a removable holster, and two interchangeable, magnet featured Batman Utility Belts, among other things. I'm still not sure where he gets those wonderful toys. They also decided to include a deluxe figure stand with led lights.

Honestly, I have to admit that I'm more impressed with The Joker, but that doesn't change the fact that this figure is absolutely amazing. If you're looking to add it to your collection, you'll have to wait a bit, as it's not due out until the first quarter of next year.
