Tomopop Review: Foo Dog by Patch Together
by Rio McCarthy on 07/04/2009 2 comments

Patch Together has hit the nail on the head with their figure of missmonster's Foo Dog design. Based on a Chinese Foo Lion design, this little guy's bound to make a good guardian for your home just like other Foo Dogs. With his bright orange coat people are bound to notice him and be sure not to mess with you.

Hit the jump to check out my time with the incredible Foo Dog and see what my thoughts were on how he guards my house.

Foo Dog

Foo Dog comes packaged very plainly in a white box that has a big styrofoam piece inside where Foo Dog himself actually lies. He comes in three pieces, with both of the arms being detached from the main body which you can then easily place them in yourself. I left them as is and they seemed to sit on the shelf fine without needing any glue, but if you'd like you can glue them into place I would assume.

Foo Dog went out on patrol around the house, but decided to take a break in the shade since it was so hot outside. He didn't want his resin beauty to be ruined, so he thought he'd take it easy.

Foo Dog

He stands around 7 inches tall, and is decorated with red-orange hair that has curled ends with spots of the same color here and there around his body. He also has a cute little fluffy tail on his back end as well. I didn't have many problems with the arms falling off while posing him at all, so I think they did a nice job allowing you to pick if you actually want them glued or not.

One part that makes me smile is his cute little blue feet on the bottom of the figure. It appears to be about the same color as his eyes, which is a nice tidbit to add. I like that his feet pads look somewhat stylized and it fits well with the rest of the figure.

Foo Dog

If you're into art of the Chinese style, I would definitely suggest you pick this piece up. Even if you're not a fan, it's a very nice looking figure nevertheless. You can still get one from Patch Together's store now for $45 as part of their On Demand system. Once again, Patch Together hits it out of the park I'd say.
