Custom wind-up dancing Prinny
by somakun on 06/17/2009 16 comments

Go here to my Youtube page to see it in action=> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaA4EByEoJg

This is a custom wind-up dancing Prinny I made using a wind-up motor I pulled out of one of my fodder toys in my bash box. The base was also a piece Iying around in my bash box. I hand sculpted the Prinny from scratch and hand painted it as well. The whole thing stands at about 3 1/4 inches tall.

Here's the motor I installed in the base

=/ I want one!!!, the surface of the prinny could be smoother though, I wonder how it would look if it had a shiney coat.

Thanks everyone! ^_^

@Rey: Sculpting and painting the Prinny was a days work but figuring out how I was going to incorporate the motor took almost 2 days. My first attempt was to make the base out of scratch but that didn't work too well. I was lucky enough to have found that base in my fodder box.

@shinobiflip: I did want to have some kind of music playing as it spins. I had a battery powered motor I was going to originally use but it spun to fast. I was going to find some way to record some music and link it to the motor and have it play when you turn the motor on.... but that's a different project for another time when I find the right materials ^_^
