Yamato's Medusa is petrifyingly gorgeous
by Emily Smalara on 05/05/2009 5 comments

If you're a fan of fantasy artwork or just the genre in general, chances are you've heard of Luis Royo. The man is definitely talented, but I have to say I've never really been a fan. There's often just something "off" about his art, even when it's absolutely stunning.

Case in point, we have the Medusa, based on Royo's Medusa's Gaze piece and turned into a gorgeous 11" tall PVC figure from Yamato. This really is a fantastic work. The tattoos, the clothes, the accessories, everything about her is spot on...until you get to the face shrapnel. If it weren't for the studs making it look like she just made out with a BB gun, she'd be something else.

If you're not as put off as I am, you can find her now for a hefty $120 USD. Really, though, if you have that kind of money to throw around on a figure in the first place, I'd say to go for it regardless of the BB accident. The rest of the design really is that lovely.
