This Will Kill You: Fewture EX Getter Robo Set
by Andres Cerrato on 03/03/2009 1 comments

There are very few things that could come anywhere close to the power of Getter Robo.  While its transformation is something that spits at the laws of space and physics, it is undeniablely an awesome super robot design.  While the original design may put some people off, I just love this redesign for the Fewture EX line of figures.

Made of die-cast metal, the Getter line of figures takes a dramatic redesign of Getter 1, 2, and 3.  Instead of the original, round design, these pieces give the mecha an industrial robotic feel, which I would love to see in more designs..  The figures feature removable parts, featuring the inner workings of each.  The best part is the inner working of the faces.  It's frightening, and its great for inspiring that fear.  It makes the figure that much better for it.  You almost want to get two of each just to display the inner pieces.  The figures are nice and large, standing around the 8 inch height and are in scale with one another.

If you should be as fortunate to make these yours, they're gonna cost you quite the penny.  They will retail for 24,800 yen PER FIGURE.  However, if you do buy the entire set, you will get a special 40cm tall double tomahawk.  It's the least they can do for spending over $750 on 3 figures.  If the price tag doesn't scare you off, note that these figures are limited.  It is a Fewture Direct exclusive in Japan, but will be available from select retailers in the HK and Singapore.  You will need to act fast though, as the preorder for this set ends on Friday March 6.  The figures will be released individually over the summer months, with Getter 1 in June, Getter 2 in July, and Getter 3 in August.  You can currently place your pre-order with Tokyo Hunter.
