Why I don't necessarily like the figures of Gill Gill, I have to admit that they're impressive. The figures follow a much more realistic path, creating a style that's starkly different from many of the bright-eyed and impossibly busty figures at the Hobby Complex show floor.
The headlining item here is one from the PSP hit Monster Hunter. The helm features an intricate amount of detail, clearly warranting its price tag of 48,000 yen. Taking a quick look at their site, Monster Hunter seems to be a pretty big thing for them, with all of these models being similarly priced, I'd assume.
Then there are three...lovely ladies, if you want to call them that. The models here are certainly interesting, and remind me very much of the work of Shunya Yamashita -- except that they take a slightly more bizarre turn. Nothing on the level of Junji Ito or Shintaro Kago, but they are definitely weird.
You can check out some more of their work down in the gallery or over on their webpage.
