Weta's Halo 3 sterling silver statues are up for bid now, but will set you back quite a few sheckels
by Bryan Coffee on 08/08/2008 4 comments

Fans of Halo take note; Weta's got your back. They put out quite an incredible lineup of statues based on the Halo universe, and all of them are highly detailed and worth the buy. But if you are a fan of the "only one in the whole world" variety of toys and statues, and have quite a big pocketbook you can throw around, you may be happy to know that they have something for you as well. Microsoft and Weta have teamed up to release a set of one of a kind sterling silver plated Halo statues. The 1/9 scale beauties are from the same mold as the regular set, except for the fact that they are very shiny and...well, silver. The first one of this set is up for auction now over on eBay, but the price is a bit hefty, coming in at a current bidding price of $1,625. Ouch.

I got a chance to check these babies out in person at Comic Con this year, and they are definitely a beautiful set of statues. Weta put a lot of heart and soul into what they do, and these are no exception to that, but $1,600 is quite a hefty chunk of change, regardless of how fancy they are. You can place your bid here if you are feeling ballsy, and if you do happen to take part in the auction, Godspeed to you. Hit the gallery for some upclose photos of the statue.
