Monthly Do Want: May edition
by Lauren Wainwright on 05/30/2008 3 comments

Another month and another selection of delicious '"DO WANTS" to choose from! It upsets me to write these blogs because I realise I am a very poor lady who cannot afford to buy figurines when I want them. Though I did go shopping in London the other day and got a few goodies .... no wonder I'm always in the red.

Well, while I'm off to cut up my credit card you can stay here and enjoy this months Do Want list. While you're at it though, contribute with your DO WANT in the comments! *Snip... Snip.. Sniff..*

Colette Bennett wants VanBeater's Crappy Cat by Jamungo

"Ahem. My do want of the month is VanBeater's Crappy Cat by Jamungo. I am ridiculously excited for this figure anyway, but when Beater mentioned it could be dropping as early as June of this year, my toy senses totally went into chaos mode. Not only is Crappy my favorite color preferences in a toy, but he also kind of looks like my cat Ender gone wrong, which makes me love it even more. I'll be slapping down cash for the this day it launches!"

Lauren Wainwright wants Eva EX School Swimsuit feat. Poyoyon Asuka Langley

"Yes, yes I know. I am a complete Asuka freak! However it's what I base my collection around and so far I have 4 Asuka and Rei sets! I've been looking at this one for a while (with it's Rei counterpart) and I am a huge fan of the Poyoyon art~ So it's perfect! You can't say she's not adorable and who wants to deny swimsuit action?"

Topher Cantler & Qais Fulton want 1/8 PVC Hatsune Miku

Topher: "Once again, my pick for the month is Hatsune Miku. This time I decided to go with the 1/8 scale PVC from Good Smile Company, and I'll likely just switch my monthly pick between this one and the Nendoroid version until I get one of them. If someone wants to help me out with that, the October re-release preorders are right here."

Qais: "I really, really want the Hatsune Miku figure Topher posted. I even tried to preorder it but apparently my clicking skills are woefully lacking. The idea of a virtual pop star is totally fascinating, and the fact that they've made a kick ass figure out of it just makes the whole thing that much cooler."

Brian Szabelski wants Queens Blade Airi 1/8 PVC figure from Megahouse

"I've wanted to write on this for a while, but until recently, I didn't have the time to. Not only does a scythe-wielding spirit in a maid uniform catch my interest, but the sculpt and paint job itself is pretty good. Sooner or later, you can expect to see her in my collection, probably sooner."

Rio McCarthy wants Kotobukiya Iron Man 1/6th Scale

"This is one of the most expensive things I've ever wanted to own, but it's freaking amazing. Sideshow and Stan Winston Studios has officially recreated something that makes me want to do bad things. This 1:1 scale Iron Man Bust makes me drool just looking at it, and the LED light-up eyes don't hurt any. This would go beautifully with the Kotobukiya Iron Man statue I've already pre-ordered, so if anyone wants to start a fund in my name to help me raise $630 then be my guest!"

Micheal Yi wants Medicom Kubrick

"Medicom could make Be@rbricks out of goat feces and I would buy it.  Unkle (James Lavelle's ongoing experimental electronica project) and Futura (urban artist pioneer) have been teaming up with Medicom since 2003.  This most recent 400% version of the character known as Pointman has a high price tag due to its limited quantity of 200 and exclusivity at the 2007 San Diego Comic Con.  Being both a huge Futura and Kubrick fan, this piece is an essential component to my collection.  In essence, it is a retrospective of the past 5 years reflecting the mark these pop culture juggernauts have made on the urban art scene.   You can still find one online and in stores at around $100 at the moment.  I hope this triple tag-team continues to keep their releases in limited numbers so I can continue to remain a poor but satisfied collector."

So what do you really want? and a zigga zig ahh~
