Papercraft Masterpiece: A Castle on the Ocean
by Rio McCarthy on 07/03/2009 8 comments

I have a great affection for people with papercraft skills, as if I can do the very basic of pieces I feel satisfied. I love seeing what insanely creative and talented people can do with just paper, and this exhibit in Japan is truly breathtaking.

Wataru Itou, a student of a major art university in Tokyo, has created this hand made castle that's absolutely gorgeous. Not only is it completely made out of paper, but it also has electrical lights and a moving train! I would absolutely love to see this baby in action, as I bet it's absolutely unbelievable, or at least it feels that way just looking at pictures.

The exhibition is called Umi no Ue no Oshiro, as known as A Castle On the Ocean, and is currently at Uminohotaru which is located in the middle of the ocean between Tokyo City and the Chiba Prefecture. If you happen to find yourself out that way you absolutely need to make your way out and check out this exhibit, it will definitely be worth your while.
