Monthly DO WANT: July Edition
by Brian Szabelski on 07/31/2009 6 comments

July is all wrapped up, and while there plenty of fireworks and festivities outside, we had plenty of them here on Tomopop! Whether it was coverage from Comic Con, Wonder Festival 09's summer event or just a regular old news day, it was a very busy month for toy collectors and fans of the vinyl craft. But just what were the Tomopop staffers oohing and aahing over?

Thankfully, here to answer all those questions is another edition of Monthly DO WANT, a look at all the things that made our July here at Tomopop. There's a little bit of something for everyone on this month's list, including both a few surprises and a few totally obvious choices.

Hit the jump to check out all of our picks for July!

Colette Bennett wants NECA's BioShock 2 figures

For me this month it's NECA's newly announced line of BioShock 2 figures. I can't wait to chuck my crappy special edition Big Daddy and get this beauty instead, and the new additions of the Big Sister and other Big Daddies. They're affordable too! I can't wait to cram all 6 into my rapidly declining shelf space.

Brian Szabelski wants Amanda Visell's Wood Labbit

Everyone say it with me: awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Amanda Visell's latest creation, this cute as all heck Labbit, was only available at Comic Con and no one bought one for me, so I'll have to be scouring the Internet to find one in the coming days. But the effort will hopefully be all for it when I can proudly display this little Labbit along with my other vinyl works of art.

There may have been a much more obvious choice, but I only skipped over the K-ON! Nendoroids this month because ... well, they're absolutely going to be a DO WANT in the future. Mugi-chan ... *drool*

Andres Cerrato wants the Summer Wonder Festival exclusive Figma Miku

Even with that strange head, I still want the Miku live stage edition Figma. I don't have a single Figma and either this or Golgo would be how I would want to start it off. The d.i.Stage completely sold me and would totally like to display that in my collection.

Pedro Cortes wants the Drossel Nendoroid

I'm digging the white, Apple-like design of Drossel, not to mention light up eyes on a Nendo. She's quite the cutie!

Eva Duenas wants the manly Sengoku Basara Revoltechs

YE, I AM READY?! Ready to party in your pants, Date Masamune. I can't wait to have these manly Revoltechs. More men to fill up my room!

Rio McCarthy wants Hot Toys' Michael Jackson Thriller Figure

Well.. shocker! Something Michael Jackson related hits my DO WANT list. :P Even though I've got several months before this Bad boy gets to be in my collection, I've already got it pre-ordered and couldn't be more excited. The sculpting just absolutely blows me away and I can't wait to make him dance in person. I'll definitely be holding a dance off between it and the Billie Jean figure. :D

Brad Rice wants Kotobukiya's Tsugumi from Kannagi

I saw this at Otakon, and I've been hemming and hawing ever since over whether or not to get this figure — a decision made all the more difficult since it's available on Amazon. I've gotten into watching Kannagi, and this figure captures Tsugumi at her absolute cutest. The embarrassed look on her face and all, the dog ears, etc. I just wish she was more clothed, so that I could display her in the house without shame ...

And so ends another monthly installment of DO WANT from the Tomopop staff. But what about you, Tomopop readers? What do you want from the past month? Hit the comments below and make your voices heard!
