Figures for Neon Genesis Evangelion have been popping up all over the place, and the excitement is only going to get louder in the US from here on out, now that FUNimation has released Evangelion 1.01: You Are (Not) Alone. I really don't mind this, having got into Evangelion rather late in the game.

Medicom is adding to the surge of figures with four lovely items: Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley, Rei Ayanami and Mari Makinami. All four of these protagonists have some stunning figures, well worth their 17,800 yen price point. They're all poseable and some of them even come with alternate pieces -- Shinji's hand comes as either "relaxed" or "fisted." I wonder what he'll be doing with them in those positions.

They're quick sellers -- both Rei and Asuka are already sold out over at HLJ, while Shinji is still in stock (no surprise). Mari isn't even listed on there. If you're like me and wait until the summer con season to buy your figures, these are likely to be hot-ticket items, so you'd better decide now and put away the cash if you're planning on buying it at Anime Expo.
