Mech Test Version Tony Stark 12" figure: The future of my shelving accessories
by Jason Millward on 12/04/2009 8 comments

This is a post about a superhero named Tony.

I loved Iron Man. LOVED it. It's the best superhero flick I've ever seen. This was the first Robert Downey, Jr. movie I had seen since Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (i.e. the movie that was hand-made specifically for me). This movie was where he officially went from an actor that I respected immensely to one of my very favorites. Granted he was playing the rich and confident version of the me except charismatic role in the previous film. But the Bill Murray School of Acting, where you're charming as hell and just being yourself in lots of unrelated flicks does have a few great students. (I'm on to you, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.) I would gladly pay money to see this character in everything.

Where was I even going with this? Oh, yeah. Hot Toys just unveiled this amazing 12" figure. I'm just going to write the following one last time before just cutting and pasting it every time I talk about a Hot Toys figure: It's 12 inches tall. It's got tons of accessories. The clothing is real fabric. The sculpt is fantastic. It's pretty much true for all of their figures. This one has extra win because I loves me some RDJ. I will part with cash on this. Expect a review when this hits in the first quarter of the new year.

(Also, for the love of god, put the Pixies tune Tony's Theme somewhere in the soundtrack of Iron Man 2! That's a freaking no-brainer.)
