Masters of the Universe art show reveals new MOTUC Optikk figure, other goodies
by Robert Oden on 01/09/2010 2 comments

As if I needed any more reason to be jealous of those able to attend the Masters of The Universe art show at Gallery 1988, Mattel announced today, via Facebook, that they were showing of one of their upcoming SDCC MOTUC exclusives at the event. Damn you west coast!

Then just a few hours before the show's opening, Mattel stated that weren't allowed to show off the exclusive, and instead were showing off an upcoming figure from the line along with some hints to future figures. The reveal? Unexpectedly, Optikk from the New Adventures of He-Man series.

The "hints" come in the form of 4 weapons. So far fans are convinced that the gold shield is for an upcoming She-Ra (YES!!) and the small vial points to a possible Keldor (young Skeletor). The yellow power sword and gray shield in the line up are still something of a mystery.

Also shown was a complete Evil-Lyn with long and short staffs, and her bird companion, Screech.

While some fans are a little miffed about a character as obscure as Optikk being produced this early, I'm okay with the addition. Admittedly I'm more excited about every other figure that was hinted at, but still Optikk looks like a fun and unique addition to the line.

Did any of you get to check out the show?
