Virtual On has finally made its way onto XBLA, making us mecha fans and those nostalgic for the good ol' arcade days very happy. Since my 360 is still in red-ring hell, I'll have to get my Virtual On fix another way. Thankfully, Kotobukiya is more than willing to help out with their announcement of a new kit, the Viper II. The Viper will be just like the previous Virtual On releases, just without the water slide decal hell that the other kits have had. All of the gimmicks and features of the Viper II will be represented, including the beam launcher, wing binders and beam sword. The only thing it won't do is lose control.
The brand-new kit is 1/100 scale and will cost about half of the original 1/100 kit that was released more than 15 years ago. The Viper II can currently be pre-ordered from Hobby Search for 4800 yen.
