Hey, guys. I'd like to apologize on behalf of the world's most awful podcast hosting service for how unbelievably late this is. Due to technical difficulties beyond our control (and believe me have I ever been trying), I can't get them to upload Tomocast 12 for another couple of weeks. It's complicated. Don't ask. I don't want to seeth up with rage again while explaining it. Having reached the limits of my patience, I'm submitting it elsewhere to download. What this means is for now it will not be available on iTunes and the like. Just through this direct download. I'm sorry for all of the trouble. It's had me ripping out what hair I have left. As an episode, it's pretty darn good, in my opinion. Not the 2 1/2 hour epic of the previous one, but still a meaty two hours. The line-up this week included Jonathan Tubbs, Rio McCarthy, Stella Wong and my pal Teddy. This sucker is available to download here (click the orange link at the bottom; ignore the rest). As per usual, hit the jump for all of the links that you'll need to keep up! (Check the gallery for a look at Rio and Stella's toys that we mention in the 'cast.)

Wait. Another one already!? This is something most unprecedented in the history of Tomocast! But it certainly is happening folks. First we get left behind for San Diego Comic-Con and now we're left behind once again for Otakon. Why do the other staff members keep leaving us? That's fine! We had fun last week with recording Personacast that we're going to do it again! Again Jason Millward takes the reigns as our host along with myself, the cute and lovely ladies Rio McCarthy and Stella Wong, myself and Pedro Cortes. ... Huh? Pedro went to Otakon? TRAITOR! Fine! We'll have Jason's good friend, the charismatic and funny Teddy join us (Jason's words, not mine)! We assure you that this week we really are sad about being left behind. Really. We are. We'll cry into our beer tonight as we talk about Saturday morning cartoons, the toys, the marketing, our rituals, and more. We will also discuss the oodles and oodles of figures shown off at Wonder Festival. Hit the comments with any questions you might have about the glorious days of Saturday mornings. And if you have any clue why we were left behind again or why Pedro turned traitor, we'd appreciate your input.

We tried. Really, we tried extremely hard. We just couldn't make ourselves feel sad about missing the San Diego Comic Con. We were just having too damn much fun chilling out and making each other laugh. I echo the sentiments of many of us when I say that this was the most fun I've ever had on a podcast. I hope that comes through when you give it a listen! Even the breaks were hilarious, so you're getting an unedited 2 1/2 hour long podcast! Joining me in this Left Behind edition of the Tomocast are my regular cohorts Pedro Cortes and Jonathan "Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto" Tubbs. We were joined by two very special guests, the queen of crafts and customs, Rio McCarthy, and the adorable assassin, Stella Wong! We cover a wide range of topics including a discussion of Toy Story 3 (including spoilers), a brief talk about The Princess and the Frog (which we literally bring up just to ruin the entire ending), getting the vapahs over Chad Concelmo, the amazing Macho Man hip-hop album, and I makes a promise for the 25th episode. Download here, or from iTunes. Hit the jump for the necessary links!

ComiCon! Woo! Oh, wait... you mean, we're not going? You're going without us? Nooooooo! With a good chunk of our staff cranking out the coverage at this year's SanDiego ComiCon, many of us are left behind: alone with our broken, rejected sadness. Which is as good of a topic as any, right?! Commiserating in our shared anguish will be Pedro Cortes, Jonathan "Tubbsitron 9000" and myself. Also, bringing the carload of cuteness are two very special guests: Miss Stella Wong and Rio McCarthy! We'll be discussing why ComiCon just wasn't cool enough to have us, what toys we regret leaving behind from childhood, Toy Story 3 and other such sad events. Got a question for us (on or off topic)? Ask away in the comments. Want to share a sad story about an old toy which still haunts you to this day? Comments. Just feeling like shouting into the abyss, hoping that someone- anyone- will hear you? Comments! We'll have some blindboxed Petite Nendoroids for our favorite sadsack!

Happy Thursday, folks! I managed to throw together yet another episode of Tomopopular Opinion for you guys, this time I'm making light of the recent Tomocast Episode 10. You haven't listened to it yet? Shame! You're missing out on some incredible hilarity which is semi-explained in the comic above. Just a note though, I wasn't there during the recording, so I don't actually know if Colette went all Bill O' Reilly on Jason's backside, but I like to imagine she did. Furious Colette makes for good times. Also, the episode's got Stella Wong in it. Stella Wong? Awesome. To be fair, I like Heroclix, I was just looking for something I think a toy reviewer would feel behooved to review. Can you guys think of any toys you'd hate to be resigned to reviewing for the rest of eternity? Answers in the comments, I'm dying to know (I'm not, really, I've just got nothing to write about for next week's comic yet).

YES! We've made it to ten episodes! I am so happy to present to you our latest ep, which is filled to the brim with excitement, action, romance and Stella Wong! We did have some technical issues (damn my new recording program), and things didn't go according to plan. However, we soldiered forward nevertheless. While we start off a bit groggy and fed up over the technical difficulties, things quickly picked up. In the end this is a more thoughtful episode that I'm sure you'll enjoy. If you've ever wanted to get to know my collecting cohorts better then you won't want to miss this! Also, Stella Wong! As always, pick us up on iTunes or at this link.

Tomocast is recording tonight (on time two months in a row: Score!). In addition to our series regulars of Pedro Cortes, Jonathan "The Robot" Tubbs, Colette Bennett and myself, we've invited a very special guest. That's right, RetroForceGo! veteran and AnimuCast regular (not to mention a founding member of The Cult of Hisanobu) Stella Wong will be joining us! We'll be talking about collection exclusivity, people who collect only toys of a certain character or figure line. Are you one of these people? Do you know one of these folks? Did you start off that way, then expand from there? Tell us your stories. Ask us your questions. (On or off topic, because I'm sure you're dying to know the secret to why Stella so awesome.) I'm sure we'll find something to give away, too. We're good for that kind of stuff!

Sometimes when we record Tomocast I forget that anyone else is actually listening. Much like the Destructoid retro podcast RetroforceGO!, Tomocast is a lot like hanging out with my friends shooting the sh*t about one of our favorite topics -- collecting figures. Except people seem to want to ... download it and listen to us talk. It's something that's always fascinated me -- how come people want to listen to us hang out and talk? Anyway, regardless of what I think, people seem to like it, and that's all that matters. Now you can not only catch us here on the site, but you can also check out Tomocast (and dozens of other great anime-related podcasts) at 91.8 The Fan. You guys really like us! Don't mind me while I blush over here...

We've been referring to episode 9 of Tomocast as the cursed ep. At last count we had to reschedule it 36 times last month. When we finally did get together, my recording program glitched and it didn't record. We got it right this time, though. Not that Skype wanted to make things easy on us, and we had some serious leveling issues. It took me a week to clean it up, because curses can't kill me, just tick me right off. Joining us this week are Colette Bennett, Pedro Cortes, Jonathan "The Tubbsiest" Tubbs, and making her podcast debut, Leah Bayer. This month, we rocked a listener questions episode (the podcasting equivalent to a clips show), and answered many of your fantastic questions in depth. We even gave away a prize. This is one of our funner eps, so do check it out either here, or on iTunes (where I hope you're reviewing us favorably). Hit the jump for the usual linkage to the toys we discuss.

This is a friendly reminder folks that we have Tomocast recording this Friday and are giving away a swanky prize to the question we find most amazing. Read the text below for details and hit the comments to ask away! Deadline to get your question in is early tomorrow evening. Hey, Tomopoppers! Did you enjoy Tomocast episode 9? What? You haven't heard it? Oh, right... We recorded it and... well, so we thought. Nevertheless, we're recording take two of episode 9 this Friday and we want to have extra fun! How so? By answering your questions! Not only do we want to answer your questions but we want to give away a set of the Final Fantasy Play Arts Kai Creatures Vol. 1 by Square Enix Products. This miniature figure set includes Tiamat from Final Fantasy, Bahamut Sin from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Brothers from Final Fantasy VIII, Valefor from Final Fantasy X, and Zelera from Final Fantasy XII. This is the domestic release of the set so it also includes the special figure, Terra with Magitek Armor from Final Fantasy VI. A real treat for fans of that specific title. To enter the contest, hit the comments and ask away! We will need your question in by Thursday, May 27 before 6PM CST and would prefer that your question be toy related. What are we looking for in a question to win? Close to anything. It's just a matter of what we feel is an amazing question. We're looking forward to what you have to ask!
