Toy Fair 2010: Gund's 30th Anniversary Snuffles
by Stephen Donaldson on 02/24/2010 0 comments

Gund, long time maker of Snuffles, the world's softest bear, has created a special bear for Snuffles' 30th Birthday this year! Blinged out with thousands of dollars worth of diamonds, this special Snuffles will be auctioned off later this year with all proceeds going to a yet-to-be-determined charity. Expected to go for anywhere above $10,000, this fuzzy little guy will make one collector very happy as well as the hundreds to thousands that will benefit from the proceeds.

It's great to see companies do tie-ins with charity, and this Snuffles is definitely going to go for quite a pretty penny. Be sure to keep an eye on this guy if you want him as he already has one very interested buyer, and if you can't afford this one for charity, you can still grab one of the regular Snuffles bears of the same size for $50 around June.

Toy Fair 2010: Gund's Snuffles Bear
by Leah Bayer on 02/24/2010 3 comments

Gund showed off the new colorways of their iconic Snuffles the Bear at Toy Fair. Snuffles turns 30 this year, so he may look quite young but he is wise on the inside. These cuddly little guys now come in caramel, chocolate, and a pale snow-white color. Snuffles is one of the softest, most cuddly plushes I have ever held, and I would love to have a little bear of my own to keep me company!

The smaller versions of Snuffles cost $25, while the larger ones are $50, but the giant one sadly is not for sale. That is incredibly cheap for plushes of this size, so be sure to look for them in stores when they are released later this year!

Continuing our tour of the huge Mattel booth, I took on the Toy Story 3 toys, coming out conveniently around the same time as the new movie. Drea showed me the new action figures, playsets, and roleplaying items from the movie, as well as a first look at the new Barbie and Ken dolls, who will play "a significant role" in the upcoming flick. Also, Stephen gets shot with a suction cup gun... four times!
