Prepare to find your favorite proxy service, as Hobby Japan has announced 4 of its upcoming releases. SIC Kamen Rider Den-O Wing Form, Chogokin Hatsune Miku and Revoltechs VF-1J of the Max and Millia variety will only be available through the purchase through mail-order via the magazine. There's no word yet as to when they shall become available, let alone the price.
As for the products themselves, Miku just does not look like the perfect subject matter for a Chogokin. The accessories included are pretty good, just Miku herself doesn't. A chrome finish just doesn't really make an appropriate look for the vocaloid. SIC Wing Form looks really out there, especially when compared with the other SICs from Den-O, though I would still buy it should I be provided the chance. I would be interested in the Revoltech Valkryries, but reports of the joint issues concerning the last releases from Macross have me worried.
We'll update the prices and pre-order information once it becomes available.
I said I wanted her bad the moment I saw her, but you know what? Now I want her worse than ever. Mikatan Blog posted a full gallery of the adorable little figure, and I couldn't help but share every single one of the pictures with you because they are so delicious and wonderful.
If you stop by Good Smile's booth during Wonder Fest, you may be able to get your hands on one of these. By the way, this Miku is #97 in the Nendoroid series ... can you believe it? We're about to hit #100 soon. I wonder if they will commemorate the number by making it a very special release? Hmm, Good Smile?
We are normally against bad quality images on Tomopop but this is one that could not be passed up. Mika-tan posted this on her Twitter account earlier in the day showing us a grainy tease of the upcoming Black Rock Shooter. Turns out this one will be based on the upcoming Black Rock Shooter anime.
Not much else to go on but expect several, clearer photos to show up at the upcoming Wonder Fest. How many here are throwing down their hard earned cash before the pre-order even opens?
[UPDATE] Danny Choo has much clearer images of this figure. Definitely looking amazing.
If you're a fan of all things Miku like we are, I know you made a high-pitched squeaking noise when you saw Gift's Hatsune Miku plush. I have to admit it's pretty adorable, and I had a feeling that it would snapped up by fans in moments (and it did). The inevitable next step was to make Vocaloid heartthrob Kaito, which of course they did. And now, who's next?
Why, Megurine Luka, of course! Coming your way in February, Good Smile will offer the tako princess for 3,675 yen. She has fully jointed arms and legs so you can mold her into a hug and make her share love with Miku and Kaito. I love everything about Vocaloid, including the confused faces people make that have never heard it when you try to explain it to them. Virtual idol, you say? Yes, I like pop stars that don't really exist!
I'm almost positive this custom has popped up in What Toys Are Up To in the past, but when I discovered a more extensive selection of photos of it over at MyFigureCollection, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share them with you, dear readers. I might be biased when it comes to Miku, but for the love of all that is holy, this thing is absolutely badass.
Created by a Japanese collector who goes under the user name of Kuroken912, this beautiful Black Rock Shooter custom Hatsune Miku is easily one of the best I've ever seen, and I can't imagine that Good Smile Company isn't watching and getting their own ideas. With the popularity of the character, how could they not be planning a Figma? This one is so beautifully detailed, though.
Well, they did a great job with the BRS PVC, and the Black Blade version is looking pretty wonderful too, so I'm guessing we can trust them with any official releases that may be coming down the pipeline. We've got the Nendoroid version to look forward to, after all!
Vocaloid's Miku sure does like to dress for an occasion. With the upcoming release of the "Vocaloid Season Collection: Snow Songs" CD, Good Smile Company is offering a special bundle package that will include the Nendoroid Petit Snow Miku.
Is there really much to say? It's Miku looking as cute as ever with a new almost all white deco. I for one love the blue and white color scheme. The dual color hair with white on the outside and blue on the inside is pretty. And come on! Who doesn't like to be reminded of winter? Snow Miku will definitely bring that feeling every time you look at her.
Pre-orders are set to start tomorrow from Japanese music stores but I'm sure the regulars will also stock it. So keep your eye on AmiAmi, Hobby Search and especially CD Japan to get you hands on this special figure.
Good Smile Company's Black Rock Shooter, who has recently been released, is now officially looking at her follow up, the 1/8 scale Black Rock Shooter Black Blade ver. We've seen this figure before a couple of times back at WonderFest in July and in August at Comiket. Details were scarce but that doesn't matter now as the Black Blade ver. is available for pre-order.
This is great news for those who missed out on pre-ordering Black Rock Shooter or were unable to squeeze a purchase in at her time of release. What makes this version different from the original Black Rock Shooter is, as the name says, will be trading her BFG for a black blade. She's also now stripping her coat to show you her ever slender figure. It's still a dramatic pose and much so an amazing figure.
Black Rock Shooter Black Blade ver. is retailing for 6,800 yen and is set for release in April, 2010. Pre-orders are available at AmiAmi and Hobby Search.
But that's not the only news. Figure/GK has a screen shot of what could possibly be the next Black Rock Shooter? Only time will tell.
A scan has recently shown up over at ToyWorld Forum giving us more details, albeit pixalated details, of the upcoming Chougokin Hatsune Miku from Bandai. We are now learning that Bandai is working with Max Factory on the release of this figure.
As shown in the scan in the header, Miku will include a stage and keyboard to play on. It also looks like her color scheme will be slightly altered with having much greener hair and replacing the gray on her outfit with a shiny, silver color. The figure will be completely poseable. On closer inspection, it looks like these are merely 3D renderings of the upcoming figure and not a real prototype.
It's not the greatest preview but it's great to get more details on what may be an amazing Hatsune Miku figure. We'll keep you posted as soon as we learn more.
We just heard confirmation from Good Smile Company a few days ago that the Black Rock Shooter Nendoroid based on the character from the fanmade video is definitely coming soon. Not a shock, surely, as we've seen many fanmade versions already, but we've already got it on the brain. And now thanks to Figure/GK (via wcloudxkumo), we have the first images of what she may look like! Cute!
Knowing Good Smile Company, I expect she'll have some sort of attachment to put the blue flame over her eye, maybe a removable cape. I haven't purchased a Nendoroid since Sebastian Michaelis came out (and where the hell is CIEL, by the way, GSC?), but I think I'm going to have to get this one. I'm a sucker for the Black Rock Shooter art. What do you think of it?
Well, it's not as if we didn't know it was coming. Several custom Nendoroids have popped up since the character's popularity has picked up, and since there's a Nendoroid version of basically everything else you can possible imagine (except the Persona 4 characters, AHEM GOOD SMILE), it had to happen sooner or later.
Neko Magic spotted this poster advertising the Black Blade version of the Black Rock Shooter figure with a telling little note in the bottom right corner -- no date or price, but we know the Nendoroid is coming for sure now. I'm interested to see how she will look, but I have to admit I've never been a fan of the Nendos when they are wearing bikinis. They just kind of look like little sausages. See Yoko Nendoroid for examples. Anyway, what do you think ... interested, or not so much?
