HMO Miku Hatsune Nendoroid up for order
by Leah Bayer on 08/31/2010 17 comments

Okay, seriously, what is the deal with the sudden influx of Nendoroids? It feels like every other day one goes up for order. This can't be good for the toy community's wallets! The ridiculously cute Absolute HMO (which stands for Hatsune Miku Orchestra) Full Action Miku Hatsune Nendoroid, which apparently needs a ridiculously long name, is up for order! We saw her a few days ago, but you can now get her at HobbySearch for 3238 yen at Hobby Search and 2970 yen at AmiAmi. She is scheduled for a December release. The extra cost is really justified by all those accessories, which include a little stage with speakers and sunglasses. ADORBZ. And don't forget that tomorrow night Makise goes up for order! My wallet is crying.

Chara Hobby 2010: 1/8th scale Racing Miku is ready to race!
by Stephen Donaldson on 08/27/2010 4 comments

This iteration of Miku has been floating around for quite some time now; first with the Nendoroid, then with the petit Nendoroids, and finally, at Wonder Festival, we saw a 1/8th scale version of this Miku. Adorning some new twintails and an orange futuristic mechanic suit, this Miku is ready to help out at the race track. Sadly, at Chara Hobby no new details were announced, but the amazing shading on her outfit can be seen in this shot a lot better than the Wonder Festival ones. So, for the time being, salivate over this shot while we wait on some more info. I hope she won't be another racing site exclusive!

New Hatsune Miku Nendoroid shown off on Mikatan's blog
by Stephen Donaldson on 08/27/2010 7 comments

Mikatan's blog has posted some new pictures of the new Miku Nendoroid set to be released in December. We showed you her a few days ago in the Hobby Japan scans, but now we get to see Miku and all of her jointastic action. While on one hand, it's great that you can pose your Miku however you want, but on the other hand I can do that already with my Miku Nendoroid and I don't have giant bulky joints uglifying the whole thing up. All qualms aside with the joints, there do seem to be a few ways in which she can be posed where they won't be too visible and she does come with a whole bunch of faces and accessories that are incredibly adorable. Hit the gallery below to check out more of this new Nendoroid and if you want one for yourself, orders will go up on August 31st in Japan.

Tomopop About Town: Miku at the Dunny 2010 release
by Leah Bayer on 08/20/2010 4 comments

Dunny releases are always exciting. The thrill of opening blind boxes, the excitement of seeing these brand-new figures, the joy of bringing home more to add to your collection. But the figures left behind tend to get a bit lonely, so Stephen and I decided to bring along Miku to the release to help us out with opening the case. Hit the jump to see Miku's take on Dunny 2010!

Tony Taka Miku up for order!
by Leah Bayer on 07/29/2010 17 comments

Ladies and Getlemen, it's the moment you have all been waiting for! The long-awaited Tony Taka Miku Hatsune is finally up for order. I think this is hands-down the best Miku so far in her regular outfit, beating even the Good Smile incarnation and the previous Max Factory one. She is up for 6690 yen at AmiAmi, which is awesome because I expected her to be far more pricey! She is released in January of 2011, so you have a lot of time to save up. This is definitely an instant-get for me, how many of you Tomopeeps plan on adding her to your collection?

[Update] Wonder Festival Summer 2010: Good Smile Company's booth
by Scott Kremer on 07/25/2010 15 comments

As usual, Good Smile Company had plenty to show off, and no lack of Miku merchandise! We finally get to see a color sample of Ishinaga Sakurako's Love is War Miku, and this time she's back on that ridiculous base! GSC was also displaying a 1/8 scale GSC Racing Miku to go along with all the Nendoroids we've seen of her in the past.

On the topic of things not Hatsune Miku, GSC gave us our first look at some figures from the new hit anime Angel Beats!, a painted version of their new Saber Alter, as well as some more pictures of the Unlimited Blade Works Movie Ver. Rin. On display were also the Yu-Gi-Oh monsters we saw at SDCC, and the one shown at Comic-Con without color now has a brilliant silver finish! Finally, we got a look at a couple new Bakemonogatari PVC figures, Hanekawa Tsubasa and Kanbaru Suruga, as well as some more shots of Sengoku Nadeko. I'm loving the bases that come with those! Do any of these strike your fancy?

[Update] Hattori Junko of Ichiban Ushiro no Dai Maou will be joining other figures based on the illustration books of Queen's Gate. The 1/8 scale figure will be a Hobby Japan exclusive and will be available sometime this year.

Wonder Festival Summer 2010: An avalanche of Miku Nendoroids
by Brian Szabelski on 07/25/2010 9 comments

What kind of WonFes would it be without a ton of new Nendoroids to gawk at? How about some new Miku Nendos? Would that please you? Because there's a few of them at the show. Racing Miku and the Racing Petit Nendos are there. There's also a new Miku that looks similar to the one we profiled last week, except it appears to have three different versions, or a ton of accessories. I can't tell which at the moment, but it's adorable!

Oddly enough, there's also a Hachune Miku figure that appears to be ... piloting a giant Hachune Miku? I have no idea what's going on. All I know is I have another Nendo or four to add to my list. Figure collecting is going to make me soooo broke ... *weeps*

New photos of Hatsune Miku Love is War ver. surface
by Scott Kremer on 07/20/2010 17 comments

Ishinaga Sakurako, known for his incredible World Is Mine Miku figure, appears to have done it again. We first caught glimpses of her, with an incredible base, during this year's winter Wonder Festival. Sakurako has posted some new detail shots of her, apparently preparing for this summer's Wonder Festival. She's looking absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately, we are still lacking color shots. Good Smile Company seems to have acquired the rights to her. Let's hope they manage to create a faithful PVC out of Sakurako's awesome sculpt! What do you guys think? Are we tired of Miku already, or is this one different enough to warrant a purchase? Check out the other new images in the gallery!

Even more nendo rumors: mysterious Miku appears!
by Leah Bayer on 07/19/2010 7 comments

A few days ago Good Smile Company teased a new Miku Hatsune release in collaboration with a few other companies. It looked like a huge project was in the works, but there was no word on what the mysterious Miku figure would look like. Well, images popped up on Figure / GK today that look like the teaser silhouette from yesterday, and the design also matches a screenshot put up by Studio Anima, one of the companies GSC is collaborating with.

GSC said that they would be showing off the design at Wonder Festival, but prices are already floating around and there are rumors that she will be sold at WonFest as well! According to these rumors you get the figure (which looks a lot like a Nendoroid) and some other stuff, including a CD or DVD of some sort for 10,000 yen. She looks to be one of the new super-poseable Nendoroids as well. I for one am really loving the new look they gave Miku, and I hope that she is given a more reasonable price and a wide release!
