Kodykoala's Custom Teenage Robot Jenny Figure
by kodykoala on 04/24/2010 3 comments

Here is Jenny the Teenage Robot from the popular Nicktoon "My Life as a Teenage Robot." My son loves this show, and I wanted to make a Jenny. This is basically a Drossel repaint, but I did have to modify the ears and the ear placement a bit. You can see more pictures on My Flickr Page

KodyKoala's Custom Battle Beasts
by kodykoala on 02/16/2010 8 comments

The 80's had some great toys. I remember playing with battle beasts when I was a kid and thought they were so cool, so I decided to make larger action figure battle beasts. Here is Pugnacious Penguin. My brother loves penguins, so I had to make this one. He is made from an Avatar Amp Suit and an Iron Monger. As you can tell, he is the swordsman of the group.

Here is my favorite animal, which is of course the Killer Koala. I used the head from the Koala spartan, and used an Iron Monger body. When I use to play Phantasy Star Online, I was always a ranger, so I made my favorite animal a gunslinger as well.

This one was a surprise figure to me. I was messing around with robot parts I had lying around and came up with the great body, so I had to figure out a head for it. At first this was going to be a fox, but I liked the white tiger head better. I used an Iron Monger, Mecha Hulk and a Metallo Torso. Very cool build. I called him Mauling Tiger. The original version was Ferocious Tiger, but whatever.

Dr. Wily, Gutsman, and Metalman Custom Figures
by kodykoala on 08/11/2009 4 comments

I always wondered why Dr. Wily never created an awesome Robot suit to kick Megaman's butt. Here is what I imagined a Dr. Wily mech would look like. I tried to stay true to Dr. Wily's style by using a skull on the front and a bubble top for him to look down on things.

I also made Gutsman and Metalman. I made these look a little more industrial because they were working robots that were reprogrammed to be evil, or so the plot of Megaman 1 says.

I tried to keep the color schemes really close to the original, but I did change some things, especially on Metalman.

Custom Wario Action Figure
by kodykoala on 06/27/2009 3 comments

Here is what I think Wario would look like if he were an action figure. I found the base figure at a flea market, and the rolls made me think that he would make a good Wario figure.

I never realized how feminine a guy could look with purple overalls, until I started to paint him. Luckily I was able to darken up the purple, and make it a bit more masculine. My favorite part is probably the mustache. I wanted a different style of mustache for this figure, and I thought that it would look cool to connect to the side burns. For more pictures, hit up My Flickr Page. Let me know what you think, and as always, I love constructive criticism.

Posable Gutsman!
by kodykoala on 03/23/2009 5 comments

Here is something I did because I did not like the original vinyl figure. The original Gutsman figure, only had 3-4 points of articulation. I wanted a Gutsman that could look like he was throwing the huge boulders, so I redid him with better joints. I used the same LEGO joints that I did when I made my Custom Airman figure. I love this figure a lot more now that it can do more. The only other thing that I want to do is to make the figures and hands movable, but I haven't found the right parts to make it look correct. If you want to see more, check out My Flickr Site. Here is a picture of the original for comparison.

Let me know what you think, and as always, constructive criticism is always appreciated.

Animal Crossing Adiction in Vinyl
by kodykoala on 03/09/2009 8 comments

Addiction comes in many forms, but one is a really lame game that I have come to love. Animal crossing is a very cute and very addictive game for the collector. The whole point of the game is to collect furniture and other things to fill your house. I am an avid pack rat, so this game is really fun for me.

I thought that I would turn my addiction into something creative to show off my love of this game. I used an 8" egg qee and a 2.5" bear qee to create these customs. I wanted to make it look like I stenciled the characters on, so I did not outline any of them.

I have posted a bunch of pictures on My Flickr if you would like to see more.

As always, I love to hear comments, and any critiques would be greatly appreciated. I am planning on updating everyday this week, so keep an eye out of my website.

KodyKoala's Custom Mario Action Figures
by kodykoala on 11/16/2008 2 comments

Here is my latest custom of Mario, Princess Peach and Toad action figures. They look a little creepy, and the Princess ended up being a little too albino, but I think they were decent for only my second attempts at action figures. The Princess was the hardest, because I had to get the face just right, and I don't think I did a great job, but for now it will do. Check out the rest of the pics at My Flickr Page.

KodyKoala's Custom Airman Figure
by kodykoala on 11/07/2008 5 comments

Here is my custom Airman figure. A couple of weeks ago, a video showed up on youtube that showed someone who made one from a Gundam model and an electric motor. I couldn't afford the parts to recreate his efforts, so I decided to try to make one with thing that I had lying around the house, which happened to be a crap load of Lego bricks.

Using Mighty Putty and super glue, I was able to create this figure. Check out all the pictures at My Flickr Page

I know the idea isn't exactly original, but I think it came out decent. If you have any comments or criticisms, let me know. Thanks

KodyKoala's Hammer Mario Custom Munny
by kodykoala on 10/08/2008 3 comments

I have actually had the Mario finished for a while now, but it has taken me a while to get the hammers made. I thought the munny form well suited Mario in this form. Not much to say about this except that I made the hammers from scratch, which was a real pain. I used acrylic paint, mighty putty for the hammers, epoxy putty for the Mario sculpt, and an old plastic Easter egg for the shell. Check out more pictures at My Flickr Page.

KodyKoala's Custom Luigi Figure
by kodykoala on 10/07/2008 4 comments

Here is my latest custom, a Luigi action figure. I have been wanting to try my hand at making an action figure, but I could not find my inspiration. This is what I think Luigi would look like if her were real and on steroids. I made the overalls, shoes, and mustache from mighty putty. I got the hat from another Luigi figure that I picked up. I know this is a little out of my realm, so any criticism would help me the next time I decide to butcher an action figure...LOL. Check out more pictures on My Flickr Page
