Tomopop Secret Santa: A Gift for Jason Millward
by Eva Duenas on 12/25/2009 5 comments

There are many who love Christmas because it is a time for them to get a crap load of toys. For me, on the other hand, I enjoy the festivities and the decorations. I'm not one to care to receive gifts but I do love to be a giver. There are all a sorts of gifts that can be given, even though people like to give casual or serious gifts on Christmas. For me, for this specific person, I'm going to turn the tables.

I may have been idle on here or a forgotten face so I may have fallen behind in getting to know any of the new people. It's sad to say I don't really know Jason all that well and the most I know of him are through the posts he posts here on Tomopop. The most memorable post that I can't forget was the photoshoot he did with the figures from “Where the Wild Things Are.” But there's another post that really got my attention because I found it hilarious. Jason, I know you have this strong hate for this thing, but I feel you could really entertain yourself with it.

Gift to release Rin and Len from Vocaloid plushes
by Eva Duenas on 11/09/2009 4 comments

It's hard to describe how incredibly adorable the Vocaloid plushes by Gift are. I missed out on getting a plush of Miku but I am currently waiting anxiously for my Kaito plush to come in the mail! However, I do have to say that I'm surprised that they made Kaito before they made Rin and Len. While some readers might know that some editors here on Tomopop dislike the "twins", I can say that they look really cute!

Mikatan has posted some more pictures of the "twins" over on her blog. There isn't any information about them yet but she mentions that there will be more details in a couple of days. How many of you are happy to see plushes of these two?

The wait for Good Smile Company's Luka nendoroid is finally over!
by Eva Duenas on 10/20/2009 9 comments

Many of us Vocaloid fans were pretty excited to see Luka get a nendoroid. The only thing we had no idea about was when they were going to finally give more information about her. We have seen her numerous times at events but there was never any word about when she would be available. All I can say is: It's about damn time!

Mikatan posted many pictures of the Luka nendoroid on her blog. She revealed the other faces that she will come with, as well as the Nendoroid Puchi Tako Luka the will come along with her. I'm happy to say that she will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow! I don't know about you but I'm extremely amused with the face in the banner above. The picture with the other nendoroids with that face on makes me laugh so much. Make sure to visit her blog to see more pictures!

Astro Boy is blasting his way into McDonald's Happy Meals
by Eva Duenas on 10/19/2009 2 comments

Astro Boy has been around since the 1950s and was created by the most famous mangaka, Osamu Tezuka. If you have been paying attention, you would know that there is a new 3-D film that will be releasing in the US this Friday, October 23rd, 2009.

What better way to promote this movie other than making toys of it for Happy Meals! According to the image from the official website, it looks like there will be a total of 6 that can be collected - Trashcan, Astro Boy Launcher, Peacekeeper, Astro Boy Flying, Zog, and Astro Boy Puncher. I know that there has been mixed feelings about this version of Astro Boy but I'm pretty excited to see it!

A closer look at GSC's Character Charm Collection
by Eva Duenas on 10/19/2009 8 comments

It's hard to count how many times we have seen these adorable keychains. I'm sure plenty of us have been asking when the hell they were going to finally put these cuties up for sale? Finally, as seen over on Mikatan's blog, we can see that not only did they just show us pictures, they finally announced a pre-order date for them!

Pirori Miku, Pirorin, and Toeto are going to be put up for pre-order on October 21st, 2009. There was no mention of a price on them but I'm expecting them to be no more than $10 dollars. Both Miku and Rin look absolutely silly and adorable, but I feel that Toeto (for those who don't know, it's one of Luka's peronalities) is the cutest out of the three. How many of you are planning to pick these up?

Yujin's Vol. 2 of the summer fun-fun time K-On capsule figures
by Eva Duenas on 09/15/2009 1 comments

It is still summer time but we all know that when school starts, summer is considered over. I know that most of us shed a tear because of school starting again but I guess the lovely ladies from K-On! can help but a smile on your face.

Yujin is going to be releasing these capsule figures later this year. There are a total of five characters that you can collect. I'm uncertain of the official release date because I found them listed over at ToysLogic. The figures will be released next year through their website and will cost $27.99 US dollars.

A beautiful Mio dollfie from K-On! surfaces on the internet
by Eva Duenas on 09/10/2009 1 comments

The only time I had ever shown any interest in dollfie's is when they were making the Nia and Yoko ones from Gurren Lagann. We understand that they can be both beautiful and creepy at the same time. You might recall that we actually posted about another Mio dollfie. I don't really like to compare because people are creative when it comes to making their dollfie's, but I think this one is way more beautiful.

A dollfie collector by the name of Yui is the one behind this beautiful dollfie. I really don't give a flying flip about K-On! but even I can say that she is seriously adorable (and not creepy at all). You can see more pictures of her over at her figure.fm account. Which one do you guys like better?

The best looking Hunter figure from Left 4 Dead I've ever seen
by Eva Duenas on 09/10/2009 3 comments

You might recall when I wrote about the Left 4 Dead sack boys that I've a huge fan of this game. While there are people whining and crying about them making a second one, I'm one of those who is looking forward to it. There have been several Left 4 Dead custom figures but I have to say that this Hunter really takes the cake.

The user by the name of Guncannon from Hong Kong's ToysDaily shared with everyone his awesome figure, along with some awesome photoshots. I may be a fan of the game but I don't think I could have this kind of figure in my room. For one thing, it would scare the crap out of me and it would also look out of place from all my anime figures. I don't want to wake up to see the Hunter biting the crap out of one of my figures. Oh, the horror.

Konami's Wolf Ash plush from Pop'n Music
by Eva Duenas on 09/10/2009 2 comments

Konami is back with another awesome Pop'n Music product! I feel bad for those who have yet to play this game because it's seriously more fun than Dance Dance Revolution. If you keep up with the gaming news, you might have read that they will be releasing the Wii one out in the states, except that it's a piece of crap and nothing like the original game. Regardless, it's better than nothing for those who have yet to get their hands on this game.

The characters from this game are funky and really different looking. Just because Ash is a wolf, it doesn't mean that he would look "normal," as you can see from his awesome "chu" looking eyes. The only downside about these products is that they are only through their website. If they don't get enough pre-orders, then they don't bother to release the product. My awesome, new friend, Tokyo Hunter, is taking pre-orders for Ash! He's going to cost 2,980 yen and Tokyo Hunter mentions that the pre-order deadline is on October 7, 2009 so make sure to jump on it.

Megahouse's Hitsugaya Toshiro from Bleach is up for pre-order
by Eva Duenas on 09/09/2009 3 comments

Chara Hobby 09 occurred two weeks ago and the figures that were present at the event are showing up online for pre-order. This one, however, by MegaHouse really came out of nowhere. Hitsugaya was one of the three Bleach figures that were announced at the event. I must say, I don't really watch Bleach anymore but Hitsugaya was one of my most favorite characters from this show. You better believe I drooled all over this figure.

Hisugaya is based on a 1/8 scale and will be released in late December 2009. His retail price is 6,930 yen and can be found for pre-order on many online retailers. Anyone planning to pick this one up? I'm a big fan of MegaHouse's Zero from Code Geass so I know I won't be disappointed in this pretty boy.
