Downright fierce: SOTA Toys' Street Fighter Sagat resin statue
by Brian Szabelski on 05/13/2008 4 comments

If you've read Tomopop over the past few months or know my personality, you know I absolutely love Street Fighter and have made plenty of posts here to prove that. Surprisngly, most people don't know that Sagat is a very close second to my favorite World Warrior, and that he's probably the character I fight best as.

So when I happened upon this amazing Sagat resin statue from SOTA Toys, it felt like someone had tiger uppercutted my heart with joy. The third piece in SOTA's Street Fighter statue line - along with Ryu/Evil Ryu and Blanka - Sagat looks like the behemoth he's always supposed to have been. SOTA has done an incredible job bringing out the sheer size and power of the Muay Thai kickboxer under Shadowloo's banner. From the scar on his chest to the wraps on his feet and hands, no detail is left untouched. It's honestly one of the most beautiful pieces of Street Fighter art I've ever seen.

Unfortunately, this statue will also deliver an uppercut to your wallet. It comes out in October 2008 at the price of US$119.99, which to say the least, is kind of expensive. Interested parties can pre-order their own Sagat at SOTA Toys' Web site. I'm on the fence, as the sculpt is beautiful, and while the price is reasonable for something of this quality, I'm not yet sure I'll be picking it up right away.
