Doctor Who Laser Battle Set: next best thing to a TARDIS
by Katrina Johnston on 09/06/2008 5 comments

Cops and Robbers, Cowboys and Indians, and finally Doctor Who and The Master! If you thought the idea of having a Sonic Screwdriver of your very own was cool (like me), let alone one that can actually do something (me again), you're going to love this set from ThinkGeek. The Doctor Who Laser Battle Set screwdrivers are a beautiful 7.5 inches long, feature their respective lights and sounds, and each one contains IR sensors and emitters that interact without the need for an annoying wearable sensor.

Whether you prefer laser or sonic, both players compete in this light tag game with five “lives” represented by a row of lights on the sides of the screwdrivers. Each time you get hit by your opponent, one of the lights goes out. It even comes with a little Toclafane you can practice on for those of you who want to hone your skills in private (or can’t find someone else to play with). Either way, they still make a pretty nice piece for the Doctor Who fan to get their hands on for the sum of $79.99.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm about to ambush my office-mate.
