Bandai plays dress up with Macross Frontier's Ranka Lee and Sheryl Nome
by Jonathan Tubbs on 11/24/2009 3 comments

That didn't take long for these two gals to pop up on the reservation list. In conjunction with the upcoming Macross Frontier: The False Diva movie, Bandai Hobby is releasing the 1/8 scale Ranka Lee Kaitaku Juuki ver. and 1/8 scale Sheryl Nome Obelisk ver. figures as a part of their Emotion Style line.

Ranka has cute going for her but whenever I see an attempt to make her "sexy" it just makes me laugh. As is the case with her construction worker outfit. I love the big boots but the rest of her makes me say "no, thank you." As for Sheryl, she is there to fill that sex appeal void that Ranka does not have as evident in her Obelisk outfit. I like the outfit for the ribbons and "shoulder" coat but the Daisy Dukes have to go. And as always, Sheryl's bust size is left up to the artist's interpretation.

Normally I would bash Sheryl but in this case, I will have to side with her. Ranka just looks ridiculous. Pre-orders are available right now at Hobby Search with Ranka Lee retailing for 6,800 yen and Sheryl Nome also at 6,800 yen. Both will be released in February, 2010.
