"!" Metal Gear Rex figure coming from 3A toys
by Jason Millward on 11/12/2009 6 comments

Rex is a giant mech that houses a nuclear arsenal and sports a rail gun. That being the case, you'd think it would be best known for creating havoc and laying down some serious destruction. If you've played through the Metal Gear Solid franchise, however, then you'll know it best as the backdrop of Solid Snake's final battles with Liquid Snake and Revolver Ocelot. These were two of the most epic fights in video game history. In each, the competitors threw down their weapons and battled in a brutal, bare-knuckled brawl on the roof of this giant war machine.

3A Toys has created this amazing reproduction of the most famous Metal Gear of all time.  Spotted by QuinJester from the ToyArk  forums, he speculates the size to be well over a foot high. You can tell from these pics that the massive size was put to excellent use in terms of intricate detail. I think it's safe to say that we're looking at the version from Metal Gear Solid 4 judging by the weathered paint job. There aren't many details to speak of, yet. No release date or pricing has been officially announced. There are some great photos to tide us over (and to enforce all drooling protocols) in the meantime.
